Before I jump in, first, if you are a returning reader, I want to say welcome back, and I hope you are well! A lot has happened since I last shared some of my thoughts here.

We witnessed the end of another cycle in the crypto markets, with a couple of projects imploding, from stable coins to centralized exchanges, leaving some with huge financial losses.

On the global stage, the Russia-Ukraine war that threatened to destabilize various commodities supply chains, from food inputs to energy, is still ongoing with no clear end in sight.

Inflation not seen since the 1980s (in the US) remains a top concern for monetary policymakers across the world and is being felt by the entire global population in one way or the other. The pandemic that has ravaged our globe seems to have been subdued. On a weekly basis, we are now averaging less than 500,000 cases, and 2000 deaths due to COVID-19 virus globally.

The events mentioned above are not the main focus of this issue. However, I happen to believe that these macro events should always take some bandwidth in the minds of those who are building in the web3/crypto revolution (I will use these interchangeably). The way these events unfold and the aftermath, whether constructive or destructive, are usually a combination of fundamental philosophies that govern our world and societies. From…
