The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has announced that it is looking into using building a digital market ecosystem using blockchain technology to raise and transfer capital across asset classes.

This is important development because there has been a lot of anticipation on when or what will bring blockchain technology use to the mainstream.

With the LSEG being the owner of the London Stock Exchange, which is Europe’s leading stock exchange, this would make the application and adoption of blockchain technology-based application in the financial sector more palatable to other players.

The LSEG mentioned that the goal with this initiative would be to improve efficiency of buying, selling and holding traditional assets.
